“The natural landscape underpins my creative process. The artwork which results is a sensory response to this immersion in the natural world, a relational encounter with a landscape. This embodied and attentive interaction is with a landscape of organic form, animal presence, weather, light and movement, on an intimate and a panoramic scale. The resulting visual imagery translates the physicality of my experience within this landscape”.

Jo explains “printmaking is central to my practise, although it does not dominate the narrative or dictate the expression of it. The relief and etching techniques I use allow space and time to consider an image, facilitating the passage from though to paper. The quality of the marks I achieve, the presence of the hand and incidence of chance, are all integral to my work.
